Today I read Ecclesiastes 2, in which the wise man realized that enjoying life is okay because all the wealth you store up will not ensure you are remember and it will be inherited by another person. Today I considered that God does want us to enjoy life.

Wisdom Does Not Stop Death

The wisdom seeker realized we all die one day so enjoy the time you have (Ecclesiastes 2:1-26). The wisdom seeker decided to seek pleasure and wealth but found it was also vanity. He had all kinds of plants and trees to eat from, gathered varieties of animals, singers, musical instruments, artwork, silver, gold, and treasures. The wisdom seeker’s labor was blessed, and he had anything he wanted and took joy in. He realized the wise are not remembered more than the fool, and both eventually die. Even if a person works hard, he or she will die and leave everything to the next person. So, they should go ahead to eat, drink, and enjoy the labor of their hands. God allows sinners to gather up good things for God to give them to people who are good before God.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

God wants his children to enjoy the blessings he has given us. The wisdom seeker realized that when you die you have no control over what is said or remembered about you, and you can’t take your wealth with you. There are times to enjoy life. Consider in the Bible all the feasts God had with the children of Israel to eat and praise in the presence of the Lord. These were joyous times. Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly see John 10:10.

What have you done lately to enjoy the blessings God has given you?
