Today I read Ecclesiastes 12, explaining that the most important duty during life is to fear God and keep His commandments. Today I considered that reading God’s word is how we know what God wants us to do to keep His commandments.
Respect God
People are to remember God while they are young before they lose pleasure in life, more people are mourning, and items are wearing down and breaking. People’s bodies eventually return to dust and their spirits return to God. While preachers are seeking acceptable words of truth and wise men read many books until weary, everything is vanity. The conclusion of everything is that man’s duty is to fear God and keep God’s commandments, because all will be judged.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Journeying through the Bible by reading God’s Word for understanding and truth is getting to know God better. As we get to know God better, we are able to understand God’s commandments and follow them. Everyone’s ultimate goal should be to do the will of God in their lives.
