Today I read Daniel 10, 11, and 12, where Daniel had a vision and an angel explained the vision including the fighting between the north and south, the northern king’s power, and the end times including the waiting period. Today I considered that Daniel is telling believers of God to be prepared to endure for a long time to make it through the troubled end times.
Daniel’s Vision of the End Times
Daniel had a troubling vision and did not eat pleasant food or anoint himself for three weeks asking God for the interpretation of the vision (Daniel 10:1-12:13). God heard him immediately and sent an angel but the angel was delayed for 21 days by the prince of the kingdom of Persia until Michael came to help him. After three kings in Persia, the fourth king will be the richest and stir up against Grecia. The kingdom will be divided with a north king and a south king. The south will be stronger and win at first. Then the north will be stronger and win. The north king will bring taxes upon the land but soon after be destroyed. The next north king will become king peacefully through flattery and fight against the south again. A north king will make himself above everything including God and honor a god of forces no one had ever heard of before. In the end-times, the south king will push against him and the north king will fight hard. Michael will stand up when the great trouble comes at the end-times and the dead shall rise to everlasting life or everlasting contempt. Knowledge will be increased upon the earth. Daniel asked about the end and was told it was sealed until the end. The time from daily sacrifice being taken away until the abomination is 1,290 days. Blessed is the person that can wait until the end the 1,335 days.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Many believers are fascinated by the end-times. Some believers want the end-times to come now, some are just watching, some are fearful, and others have a range of emotions and thoughts about the end-times. Regardless the Bible shows that the end-times will be worse than anything the earth has faced before and that those who make it through everything will be blessed. The amount of time believers have to survive the troubles according to Daniel 12:12 is 1,335 days or about 3.7 years.
