Today I read Hosea 4, where God names off activities related to Israel’s immorality. Today I considered that can God tell us when we are doing wrong and can make us feel ashamed.
Israel’s Immorality
God told the children of Israel that he had a dispute with them because of their sinful behavior (Hosea 4:1-19). The Lord said they had been swearing, lying, killing, stealing, whoring, committing adultery, excessively drinking, rejecting knowledge of God, sacrificing in various places, and Ephraim had joined with idols. God’s punishment will include eating but still being hungry, infertility, and punishing people and prophets. God will make them ashamed of their sacrifices.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
God like any good father wants us to know what is wrong and what is right. The Lord can show us when we are doing something that is sinful or not right through giving us knowledge, other people, the Bible, our own convictions and experiences, and other ways. When we accept the truth concerning our bad behavior, we can feel ashamed.
