Today I read Hosea 6, where God says he wants a lasting commitment. Today I considered that God can give us good things but also will allow bad to overtake areas that refuse His presence.
Commitment With Healing or Crime
God wants a lifetime commitment and will heal his children but if they refuse God can let the city go toward crime. Going back to God, God can heal any hurts he caused. Ephraim and Judah’s declarations of loving God did not last any time before they started worshiping in a whorehouse. God wants people who continue to love God and want to get to know God. Gilead is a city filled with crime, even priests were assaulting worshipers.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
God can heal an area, or God can allow crime to overrun a city. The choice is up to the people there whether they choose to seek, get to know, and follow God or not. We are a part of that choice.
