Today I read Hebrews 10, about God giving us the new plan in Jesus Christ and encouragement to keep faith in God’s plan. Today I considered the importance of faith in God’s plan and promises.

Old Plan to New Plan and Keeping Faith

God put away the old plan and gave us the new plan. The old plan was the old laws with yearly sacrifices to address sin but resulted in people focusing more on sin. The new plan was the sacrifice of the perfect person Jesus Christ to pay for our sins once and for all, so there is no need for animal sacrifices. We are to stay faithful, encouraging each other to do good, believing in God’s promises and Christ’s sacrifice, and still gathering together to worship God. Those who intentionally turn their backs on Christ will have a more severe punishment than just death under the old law; they’ll face God’s judgment. Remember when you first came to Christ and faced hardship, you need to keep the faith now too. Keep faith in God’s plan until the end to receive the promises.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

Faith in God’s plan and promises is not always easy. New Christians face hardship from making a change in their lives. Older Christians face trials and temptations along the journey. But God will be with us along the way; and Jesus left the Holy Spirit also called the Comforter with us to help, lead, and guide us. All Christians need to keep the faith throughout the hardship to make it until the end. Thank God for the Comforter.
