Today I read Genesis 1 and Genesis 6-9, in which God prepared a place for mankind to dwell and God had Noah prepare for the disaster of the flood. Today I considered that God prepares for the future and has his children prepare for the future.
God Prepared for Mankind
God prepared the earth for humans (Genesis 1:1 – 31). God created the earth with land, light, water, plants, birds, fish, and livestock. Then God placed Adam in Eden and told Adam he had given Adam all kinds of plants to eat. God made sure we had everything we needed before placing us in the Garden of Eden.
Noah Prepared for the Flood
Noah prepared for the flood according to God’s instructions (Genesis 6:1-9:17). Mankind was corrupt but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. God told Noah that God was going to destroy the earth because of man’s wickedness. God had Noah build an ark and fill it with enough food for over 370 days. The ark saved Noah, Noah’s family, and two of every genus of animal.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
God demonstrates planning for the future and had Noah prepare. God prepared for men and women to live on earth. Then God had Noah prepare for the coming disaster of the flood to save Noah and Noah’s family.
