Today I read Deuteronomy 18:15-22 and Acts 3:18-26, in which Christians are all preparing for Christ’s return. The Old Testament predicts the Prophet and the New Testament tells of predictions that have come true. Today I considered that being a Christian means preparing for Christ’s return, believing in Christ Jesus as your savior, and that Christ is the Prophet foretold of in the Bible.

The Return of The Prophet

God promised the people a Prophet raised up from their brethren (Deuteronomy 18:15-22). This Prophet was Christ Jesus whom gave instructions, predictions, and saved us by dying for us. Peter tells us many prophets predicted Jesus coming (Acts 3:18-26). Peter also says Jesus has already came to earth but has gone to heaven until the appointed time. We are to prepare and hear Christ Jesus’ word. Anyone not hearing the Prophet Jesus Christ’s word will be destroyed, when Jesus returns.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

Anyone who is actually a Christian is a preparer, preparing for Christ to return to earth. In preparing for Christ’s return Christians listen to and read the Bible to grow closer to God. The goal is to have a relationship with God and endure until the end, when Christ returns.
