Today I read Exodus 7, in which the rod becomes a serpent and the water becomes blood. God used an older Moses to show His wonders. Today I considered God’s Exodus miracles that inspired movies even non-Christians know about was done by an 80 year old. I also considered that God did all of this for His glory.
God Uses Older People
Just because you are older or retired does not mean God can’t use you. God sent Moses to perform miracles before Pharaoh when he was 80 years old. God had Aaron help Moses and Aaron was 83 years old (Exodus 7:7). As long as you are still alive you can do God’s work. You have to choose to be used by God.
Wonders for God’s Glory
God wants us to know He is the one delivering and taking care of us. God hardened Pharaoh’s heart. Then God brought forth His wonders (Exodus 7:3) so that the Egyptians would know God brought Israel out of Egypt (Exodus 7:5). The first wonders were Moses’ staff turning into a snake that ate the magicians snakes (Exodus 7:8-13). The next day Moses struck the rod upon the rivers and all the rivers turned to blood including the water in vessels, the fish died and the river stank for seven days (Exodus 7:14-25). We would not even have water to drink without God giving it to us.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
The Egyptians had to dig around the river for water to drink. God had a set time of seven days for this wonder to end. Regardless of the experience, it falls under God’s timing.
Have you ever experienced something for a short time, less than a week, which had a large impact on your life?
