Today I read Exodus 26, which talks about the specific instructions for the cloth and wood in the tabernacle. Today I considered that God gave us an example to consider for taking care of His dwelling places and for considering our own.

Colored Cloth

God cared about the cloth. God was very specific about the length, color, and bindings of the cloth used in the tabernacle. God measured the sizes in cubits, specified the colors of blue, purple, and scarlet, and said when silver and gold were to be used for binding and rings. God cared about the cloth and colors used in making His dwelling place. We should care about the cloth and colors used in our dwelling places.

Boards for the Tabernacle

God cared about the wooden boards. God cared about the size of the boards, how many were used, the fastenings, and assembly. God ensured the construction was secure in the corners with two boards. God also made sure the underside was stable with the bar reaching from end to end. God wanted a stable dwelling place that would stay together. We should care about the structural stability of our dwelling places.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

God told the people specific instructions about the cloth and boards to be used in His dwelling place. I considered that God wanted a beautiful, strong location to dwell. But God also gives us examples for ourselves. Our heavenly Father probably also wants us to have a beautiful and strong location to dwell.

Do you believe God wants His children to have beautiful and strong locations in which to dwell?
