Today I read Exodus 28, which details how to make the clothes and adornments for God’s priests. Today I considered that before you begin a project its best to know everything you will need to finish the project. I also considered that God will sometimes have your bloodline follow in your footsteps.
Plan Before You Begin
God detailed all the parts and types of laborers to make the priest’s garments for glory and beauty (Exodus 28:1-14). God said the things the priest wears includes a breastplate, ephod, robe, coat, head covering, and belt. The items would incorporate gold, fine linen, and jewels. The individuals to do the work were to be filled with God’s wisdom and have special skills like an engraver. As God detailed, we should remember and list all of the things and skills we will need before we begin a task.
Aaron Chosen
God chose Aaron and Aaron’s descendants to be priests wearing the priest’s garments. Aaron and his son’s were set apart from everyone else to focus on working for God (Exodus 28:1). Aaron was the first person to wear the priest’s clothes but his sons were to also become priests (Exodus 28:2-4). Aaron’s bloodline was to serve God forever (Exodus 28:43). We can also pass on blessings and service to God through our bloodline, when it’s God’s will.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
It is good for parents to pass on their skills and knowledge to their children and others. Are there any skills or knowledge that you only have because of your parents?
