Today I read Exodus 31, which talks about the workmen doing the work for the tabernacle and keeping the Sabbath. Today I considered that God gives inspiration to craftsmen and wants us to keep the Sabbath day.
Workmen or Craftsmen
God can give artists inspiration to do works pleasing to Him. God told Moses specific people to appoint in doing the craftwork on the tabernacle (Exodus 31:1-11). God gave Bezaleel, Aholiab, and wisehearted people the wisdom to work with all manner of materials from cloth to wood to stone to gold to brass. They were to make beautiful works for the tabernacle. We should also take the inspiration God gives us in the arts to do works that please God and give credit to God.
The Sabbath
God wants His children to keep the Sabbath holy (Exodus 31:12-18). God told Moses the Sabbath was a day no one was to work. God created the earth and everything in it within six days and rested on the seventh day. This rest day is a sign between God and His children. We should take at least one day each week to rest and refresh ourselves. This is something God wants for us.
