Today I read 2 Chronicles 12, in which the Egyptians raid Jerusalem because they transgressed against the Lord but God spared them after they humbled themselves. Today I considered that our actions and faith in God impacts God’s actions and behavior towards us.
One Action Impacts Another
Our actions towards God impact God’s actions towards us. Rehoboam and all Israel turned from God so God left them under Shishak, king of Egypt. Egypt overcame all of Rehoboam’s strongholds leaving Jerusalem as the location the princes and king gathered. They humbled themselves to God so God granted them some level of deliverance, to become Egypt’s servants instead of being destroyed. Egypt took away Jerusalem’s treasures including in the house of the Lord. Rehoboam reined a total of 17 years in Jerusalem before passing. Then Abijah, his son, reigned. Our actions and faith in God do matter.
