Today I read 2 Chronicles 17, in which Jehoshaphat was king of Judah and blessed because he followed God. Today I considered that following God in obedience leads to blessings in our lives.
Blessed by Following God
God blessed the obedient king that inquired of God (2 Chronicles 17:1-19). After Asa passed, his son Jehoshaphat became king of Judah. Jehoshaphat followed the rules established by David, sought God, and had Levites going around teaching the law to the princes and to the people. God blessed Jehoshaphat because of his actions. Everyone feared war with Jehoshaphat. The people of Judah, the Philistines, and the Arabians brought gifts to him. Jehoshaphat’s kingdom prospered, he built castles and had trained mighty men willing to fight, just waiting on the king. As long as we follow after God, God can bless us in multiple areas of our lives.

Jehoshaphat was obedient to God, gaining a prosperous kingdom along with peace in his land.
