Today I read 2 Chronicles 27, in which Jotham was king of Judah. Today I considered that Jotham’s obedience led to his adversaries continuously paying into his kingdom.
Wealth From the Enemy
The king followed God and God increased his territory and wealth. Jotham was 25 years old when he became king and he reigned 16 years. He did the right thing according to God and prospered. Jotham expanded into the mountains and forests building cities and castles. He won the battle against the Ammonites, obtained significant tribute from the Ammonites, and became mighty. Jotham was buried with the kings. We need to remember to be guided by God in our actions and God can increase our territory and wealth, sometimes with our adversaries also adding to our wealth.
