Today I read Nehemiah 1, in which Nehemiah prays for Israel after hearing about their situation in Jerusalem. Today I considered that we need sincere people praying.

Sincere Prayer

Nehemiah learns about the Jews, is upset, and sincerely prays (Nehemiah 1:1-11). Nehemiah lived in the palace in Shushan and asked Hanani, who was visiting, how the escaped Jews were doing in Jerusalem. Hanani and those with him said they were not doing well and Jerusalem’s walls and gates were broken and burned. Nehemiah was truly upset crying and fasting for days. Nehemiah prayed and reminded God of His promises give His people mercy when they repent and return to him.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

God knows when you pray from the heart. Nehemiah was sincere. He was very upset about Jerusalem. He was weeping, fasting, and praying. Sometimes we need people praying who truly care about the situation.

Who would you go to that would truly care about the situation and pray to God with a sincere heart?
