Today I read Job 36 and 37, the end of Elihu’s opinion. Elihu speaks about God’s might and power. Today I considered that yes God is mighty but He loves us, and created the earth and us.

Elihu’s False Wisdom

Elihu thinks he possesses wisdom from God, talks about God’s might and people not being able to approach God (Job 36:1-37:24). Elihu said he had more to say and believed his knowledge was given by God. God is mighty, does not harm the righteous, but does allow the wicked to suffer. God shows the wicked their wrongdoing through suffering. Then if they obey their lives will be good. God can take water from the sea to be carried in the clouds and give us rain. God has control over the rain, snow, ice, wind, thunder, and lightening. God causes it and directs its path, and even how much. Elihu asks Job if he understands how powerful God is, then how can anyone address God.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

God is all-powerful, creating heaven, the earth, and all creatures on it including mankind. God is a loving father (1Corinthians 8:6). God is like men they call gentle giants. They are big, strong men that could fight and protect but when they pick up one of their children they have the most gentle, safe hands on the planet. We are God’s children through love and obedience (1 John 3:1-10) and accepting Jesus Christ as our savior (1 John 2:22-23).

Are you God’s child?
