Today I read Job 39, the middle of God speaking to Job, asking him rhetorical questions, and showing the knowledge God imparted to the animals. Today I considered that God guides the animals, he can also guide us.
God Directs the Animals
God shows Job’s lack of knowledge through information and questions about animals (Job 39:1-30). God asks about Job knowing and understanding when wild goats will give birth and about wild donkeys roaming free, who gave peacocks and ostriches their wings, how horses gain their strength and bravery in battle, and how birds know directions to fly and how to make nests.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
God imparts knowledge to animals on the earth so they know what to eat, where to go, and how to take shelter. God can also do the same thing for us. God can help us know what to eat for our health, where to go to be doing God’s work, and where we should live to pour into God’s kingdom. We can ask God to direct our paths. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV).
When have you prayed to God about what to do and realized you needed to take a different path to get to where God was having you go?
