Today I read Deuteronomy 7, where God promises to defeat the nations and bless the Israelites as long as they continue to love and follow God. Today I considered that God promises His children land, children, and good health.
Blessings From Following God
God promises to remove nations, and give the Israelites land, cattle, children, and good health (Deuteronomy 7:1-26). God told the Israelites the Lord would take them to the land the Lord wants them to have and throw out other nations. The Israelites were to destroy those people, not make promises to them, not marry them, destroy their altars, images, and groves, and burn their gods. The Israelites were not to take any of the gold of their gods or put any abominations in their houses. The Israelites are not to fear because other nations have more people, God can do wonders like he did in Egypt. God will put them out little by little and deliver their kings into the Israelites hands. The Israelites were a small number of people chosen by God because God loved them and was keeping the promise made to their forefathers. God keeps His covenant to a thousand generations for those that love the Lord but destroys those that hate the Lord. God shows mercy, increasing the children, increasing the livestock, and taking away the sickness of those that love the Lord.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
God loves His children and wants to give His children good things including land, children of their own, and good health. So many people want these things but do not have all of them. The Israelites had to have faith to follow God and obey the Lord to get all of these things. We also have to have faith and obey God to get our blessings.
