Today I read 1 Chronicles 2, which talks about the lineage of God’s chosen people from Israel to David. Today I realized that all family members contributed towards God’s plan and I am thankful many things and processes were established years ago.

Contributions of Family

God shows us that within families all of the different types of members can be important (1 Chronicles 2:1-55). Fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, wives, husbands, and concubines contributed to the lineage of Israel and impacted lives. More cities and family groups were established. Families of scribes were created. We should remember that within our family group everyone has the potential to contribute to God’s plans.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

Recently I was talking to a realtor who explained many streets and locations are named after the people who used to own the land. This applies to the Bible in that many groups of people and towns were named after the people who created the group or the town. They built a legacy and foundation for future generations.

I thank God for those people who did the hard work so that it’s easier on us today. They established the borders, towns, and property lines, and settled disputes resulting in an easier life for us today.

What about life today versus hundreds of years ago do you thank God for?
