Today I read 1 Chronicles 18, which talks about David’s victories after becoming king. Today I considered that when David gained from his enemies and others he gave to God. David then maintained what he obtained and set structure.

Taking But Giving

David subdued his enemies, gained servants, was appreciated by outside kings, and gave to God (1 Chronicles 18:1-. David fought and restrained the Philistines, the Moabites, the king of Zobah, and the Syrians, making people from these kingdoms servants. King Tou sent David gifts after David defeated his enemy Zobah. David dedicated the gold, silver, and brass from these nations and king Tou to the Lord. God preserved David wherever he went. We should remember that while David took from his enemies, he continued to give to God, and God protected him.

Maintenance and Structure

David maintained what he obtained and set up structure (1 Chronicles 18:14-17). David was aware of what was going on and making just decisions for the people. He appointed individuals over warriors, recording, as priests, and over locations. Learning from David you should interact with the people you are leading to ensure justice and make sure you have structure in place to maintain your kingdom.
