Today I read 1 Chronicles 23 and 24, which talks about the priests and Levites being assembled, naming the descendants, and outlining some of the duties. Today I considered it is best to have a leader take over while they have guidance to help them organize everything.
Next Generation Organization
When David was old and appointed Solomon king, the princes, priests, and Levites were gathered and organized to do the work of the Lord (1 Chronicles 23:1-24:31). In some positions lots were cast to decide who did what. Priests and Levites 20 years old and older did the work of the house of the Lord, as officers, judges, porters, governors of the sanctuary, governors of the house of God, praising the Lord, making show bread, offering burnt sacrifices, and other necessary things. Sometimes as generations get older it is better to appoint the next leaders and help them organization everything while you are still alive to assist them.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Have you ever had obtained a position where the prior person or even their notes were available to help you become effective in that new position?
