Today I read 1 Chronicles 27, which talks about military and civil affairs separation of duties. Today I considered that the more members the more workers and division of labor there should be within the group.
Division of Labor
There was a division of leadership and labor across the months and across industries (1 Chronicles 27:1-34). Family leaders, commanders, captains, and officers are listed for the 12 groups, with 24,000 people in each group, serving one month of the year. The king’s treasury had different leaders over field, city, and village storehouses, castle storehouses, tilling the field, vineyards, wine cellars, olive and sycamore trees, oil cellars, herds, camels, donkeys, and flocks. We should remember that the larger the group, the more division of labor and workers that should assist.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Yes, our current 12 months of the year calendar matches the Bible having 12 months in the year. What have you found surprising in our society that is actually outlined in the Bible?
