Today I read Joshua 23, in which Joshua is old and addresses Israel concerning following God. Today I considered that they would have continued to grow and expand if they followed God.
Follow God and Expand
Joshua told them to follow God and expand their territory or lose it all (Joshua 23:1-16). Joshua was very old and called for the leaders including the elders, judges, and officers of the children of Israel. Joshua divided by lot the nations that remained. He explained that if they follow God they will conquer nations and no one can stand against them. Joshua reminded them that God had already delivered on the promises he made. If they do not follow God but follow the false gods of the people and marry them then the anger of God would be upon them and they will perish quickly from the land God gave them. Sometimes we have to choose to follow or not follow God and live with the consequences of that choice.

Following God does require work, but means we can continue to grow and expand.
