Today I read 2 Samuel 8, in which David had military victories over his enemies and put people in charge of different parts of the kingdom. Today I considered that after victory there is more responsibility and a need to manage more things you receive through the victory.
David’s Victories
God blessed David to be victorious over his enemies such that David expanded territory, had military outposts, and division of authority to run his kingdom (2 Samuel 8:1-18). David fought and won against the Philistines, Moabites, king of Zobah, and Syrians that tried to aid Zobah because God was preserving him. David obtained servants, chariots, precious metals, and allies by winning his battles. David built military detachments in Syria and Edom. David gave different people authority over military, recording, as priests, and chief rulers.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
David was blessed to be victorious because God was with him. David’s territory expanded even into his enemies territories. David needed leaders and put them in place including making his sons chief rulers. The more you have to manage, the more you need trusted people in place.
What would you do to manage everything if God blessed you with more?
