Today I read Job 16 &17, in which Job answers the group of friends and neighbors. Today I considered that responding to a group of negative people can be hard and you have to be careful not to be dragged into their arguments but to look towards God for the positive.
Job Responds to the Group
Job is now talking to the group of them and saying they are not helping but making things worse (Job 16:1-17:16). Job called them miserable comforters not giving strength, making him tired, and scorning and mocking him. Job said they gathered together against him and describes his physical and emotional pain. Job tells them none of them are wise and he now has less hope.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Job has now had all three of his friends speak negative concerning his situation and is responding to all three of them. Their combined talk is making him feel worse but he is continuing to talk to them. Maybe they are the only ones around to talk to. Sometimes the devil would prefer you are only around and talking to negative people so that your misery and negativity only increases. Then you continue to dwell in the negative never seeing the light. But God wants us to have life and life more abundantly.
What can you do today to not focus on the negative and look toward the positive and the light?
