Today I read Deuteronomy 33, where Moses blessed the tribes before he died. Today I considered that even of you are old and close to death, you have the power to bless others with your prayers.
Moses’ Prayer
Moses gave them reminders and prayed over the tribes (Deuteronomy 33:1-29). The Israelites are reminded God wrote the law for them with His hand. Moses gave them the law concerning their inheritance. Moses stated specific blessings for Reuben, Judah, Levi, Benjamin, Joseph, Ephraim, Manasseh, Zebulun, Issachar, Gad, Dan, Naphtali, Asher, and Israel affectionately called Jeshurun. The different blessings included specific lands, riches, growth in numbers, expanded territory, peace, and more.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Moses was 120 years old, knew he was close to death because God told him, and still prayed for all of the tribes. Moses was only able to see the promised land from a distance and hear the reports from prior spies going into the land, yet Moses prayed for them. Our elders can also be older and know blessing are coming but still pray for us. We should allow the older prayer warriors to pray for us.
What older pray warrior have you been in contact with that you had pray for you?
