Today I read Exodus 10, in which there was the plague of locusts and the plague of darkness. Pharaoh tried to bargain concerning letting people go, but God keeps his promises. Today I considered how we can stand on God’s Word, and how God impacts our environment to get us to change before impacting us.
God Doesn’t Change His Promise
God said His people would not leave Egypt empty (Exodus 3:21). Pharaoh wanted to compromise with God. Pharaoh said he would let the men go worship God (Exodus 10:11) so there would not be a plague of locusts. After the plague of darkness, Pharaoh said he would let the people go worship God but they must leave their cattle (Exodus 10:24). God keeps His promises and thus did not end the plagues. We can stand on the Word of God.
Environment Before Impacting Us
God first affected the comforts of the land and animals, then people. The water became blood, then frogs everywhere, then people getting lice. The next set of plagues were flies across the land then cattle plague, then people getting boils. God burned the land with hail, took crops with locusts, and then made people unable to see anyone. In our lives God first affects our environment before impacting us when he wants us to change something.

Have you ever experienced an environment becoming more uncomfortable and felt the peace of God when you left?
