Today I read Ecclesiastes 4, about power mattering, companions being an asset, and wisdom is valuable. Today I considered that as individuals there a lot of things for us to consider from who is in power to what relationships we should invest in.
Power, Companionship, and Wisdom
People have to consider power players, companionship, and the value of wisdom (Ecclesiastes 4:1-16). Oppressors having power is the only way they can oppress others. Having half as much is better than dealing with people aggravating you. Two people working together, protecting each other, and supporting each other is better than one working alone. It is better to be poor, wise, and young than an old, foolish leader.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Who is put in power does matter. Do you want someone who would use power to oppress people or to uplift people?
Sometimes work paying less is better than work paying more, especially if it leaves you feeling angry, upset, and aggravated every day. Is what you are doing worth the aggravation?
God prefers we have companions and/or spouses. Ecclesiastes 4 talks about different situations where it is better to not be alone. These situations of working together, traveling together, and living together would call for different relationships like co-workers, companions/friends, and a spouse. Do you have or have you considered investing in one of these relationships?
