Today I read John 1, which summarized how Jesus is the Messiah and begins telling of Jesus and how he gained four disciples following him. Today I considered that God tells us better or the best is coming and we have the choice of staying the same or taking the better way.

Christ the Messiah

The coming of the Messiah was foretold, anticipated, and occurred with the birth of Jesus, then Jesus gained disciples (John 1:1-51). Christ Jesus was with God from the beginning when the world was formed by God. Christ Jesus became a man to be the Light of the world and take us from being under the law of Moses to under the grace and truth of God. John the Baptist came to be a witness for Christ Jesus, baptizing with water, while Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost. John’s disciples listened to John witness about Jesus; two of them named Andrew and Peter started following Jesus. The next day Philip brought Nathanael with him to meet Jesus. The disbelieving Nathanael was convinced by Jesus’ words. Philip and Nathanael started following Jesus.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

John the Baptist had many people watching him and probably way more than two disciples. They all listened to what he was saying about Jesus being better and more powerful than John but only two followed Jesus the next day. When God tells us there is something better and a better way, we have the choice to continue on the path we are on or to follow a better path.

Which path do you choose today?
