Today I read John 10, where Jesus explains that he is the good shepherd and his sheep hear his voice and follow him. Today I considered that to really belong to Jesus we have to follow his lead.
Jesus the Good Shepherd
Jesus explained how a good shepherd loves his sheep, and his sheep follow the shepherd (John 10:1-42). A good shepherd comes through the gate and does not sneak in. His sheep know his voice, follow him, and come from multiple flocks that will be joined together into one flock. The good shepherd will fight a wolf and predators to protect the sheep while a hired worker will flee from danger. As a good shepherd Jesus is willing to do as God commands and die for his sheep. Jesus said even if the Pharisees and others do not believe in Jesus, they should believe in Jesus’ works that he did in Father God’s name. Those not listening are not Jesus’ sheep and do not follow him. Jesus left before they could take him and went to where John first baptized. Many people there believed in him because what John said about Jesus was the truth.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
We need to look at our lives to see whether we are following the lead of Jesus.
