Today I read John 21, where Jesus appeared to the disciples again by the sea and told Peter to feed his sheep. Today I considered that God wants us to take care of one another.
Jesus Appeared At The Sea
After Jesus’ resurrection he appeared to the disciples beside the sea (John 21:1-25). The disciples were fishing and Jesus called out to them telling them to put out the net on the right side. They caught a lot of fish and went to shore to meet Jesus. They ate fish and bread with Jesus. Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Jesus, and Peter said yes each time. Jesus told Peter to feed his sheep. Then Jesus told Peter to follow him, and John decided followed in behind them.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
God wants his leaders to take care of those that follow him including feeding them. Shepherds take care of their sheep including leading them to green pastures to eat. Spiritual leaders feed you spiritually through God’s word. Everyone needs spiritual food that they can eat by reading the Bible.
