Today I read Hebrews 6, about salvation through Jesus and believing God’s promises made to Abraham. Today I considered that salvation and God’s promises require faith.

Salvation and God’s Promise

Everyone is to believe in salvation through Jesus’ sacrifice not by self-help, and turn toward works like baptizing, healing through prayer of laying on of the hands, and more. Once a person has seen the light and been given a taste of heaven, if they turn away they can’t simply turn back. These people are like a field that was watered and should have brought forth a harvest but brought forth thorns. The gardener will burn that field. We are not to be like them. We are to believe in God’s unbreakable promise of blessings made to Abraham and run forward to grab the promise.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

God gives us salvation and blessings but we must believe in Jesus’ sacrifice and God’s promises to Abraham to receive it. We cannot stand-on a promise if we have no faith in it.

Do you believe in the promises God made to us?
