Today I read Hebrews 11, explaining faith and giving examples of faith in God. I considered that faith requires not only believing in God but also taking action based on God’s promises and instructions.

Blessed By Faith

God requires faith to please Him and be blessed by Him. “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 KJV). Examples of people having faith include Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, and more. They each did something and was blessed by God. Their actions included spending time with God, building a boat, leaving to follow God, trying to have a child after being old, giving up being a prince because of his people and possibly facing death to return to his people, saving Israelites spies, fighting even when afraid, and more. God saved these people from regular death, saved a family from drowning, blessed generations with land and wealth, gave victory in battle, and more. God blessed them for their faith.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

Faith is standing on God’s word and promises, along with believing the visions, dreams and instructions given by God. Faith requires action because all of the people mentioned took some type of action showing they had faith in God.

What action are you going to take today following God’s guidance and instructions to show you have faith in God?
