Today I read 1 Peter 1, showing how God loves us so much that he redeemed us, wants us to live right, and gave us the Holy Spirit to help us. Today I considered that we are to prepare for we will face trials of our faith.

Mercy, Christ, and the Holy Spirit

God’s mercy gave us Jesus and the Holy Spirit to help us. God sent Jesus Christ out of mercy to be resurrected for us and give us an honorable and clean heritage in heaven. We are to have faith in salvation through Christ and rejoice, but remember our faith will go through trials. Trials we face are precious. So, we have to strengthen our bodies and minds so we can live holy, because we were redeemed by Jesus. Therefore the Holy Spirit can help us obey the truth and honestly love fellow believers.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

Christians can prepare to face trials of faith through accepting the Holy Spirit, prayer, worship, reading God’s Word, and listening to God’s Word. Once you accept the gift given to us of the Holy Spirit, you can listen to the Holy Spirit to receive guidance, understanding, and revelation knowledge. Then your prayer life, worship, reading and listening to God’s Word is enhanced.

Have you accepted the gift of the Holy Spirit? What have you been doing to be ready for the trials you will face?
