Today I read Exodus 25, which talks about the instructions God gave Moses for taking offerings for God’s ark, mercy seat, table, and candlestick. Today I considered that God wants us to give to His kingdom willingly and that when God gives specific directions we are to follow them.

Giving Willingly

God wants us to give willingly to His kingdom (Exodus 25:1-9). God had Moses ask the Hebrews for precious metals, cloth, animal skins, jewels, oil, and spices for God. God only wanted these items collected from individual who gave of their own free will, willingly. Even today God wants us to give to Him because we desire to give to Him.

Ark, Mercy Seat, Table, and Candlestick

God sometimes gives us specific directions to follow. God gave Moses specific directions on the wood and gold to use in making His ark, mercy seat, table and candlestick (Exodus 25:10-40). God told Moses the size to make His things. God also told Moses what designs to use in making the ark, mercy seat, table, and candlestick. When God gives specific directions we are to follow them.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

When you give to God’s kingdom, is it willingly?
