Today I read Exodus 37, which talks about the construction of the ark, the table and candlestick, and the altar of incense. Today I considered the process of implementing God’s plans.

Implementation

After preparation (Exodus 36), comes implementation. Bezaleel made the ark, the table and candlesticks, and the altar of incense (Exodus 37). The dimensions and materials used were done according to God’s previous instructions. God told the people the cubit measurements for all the items and materials to use like shittim wood and gold. Then they made it. After we prepare we should implement God’s plan.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

Gathering materials, doing inventory, ensuring you have all that you need took a lot of time. The people making fine linen for example had to make the thread, weave it into cloth and dye it before donating it to God. Implementation was no joke. After everything was collected there was the work of carving the shittim wood, cutting it to size and smooth it without power tools. Gold was formed and beaten to cover the wood, and also formed into things like candlesticks, cherubs, and more. Imagine doing all of this by hand.

Have you ever formed anything by hand without the use of power tools?
