Today I read Exodus 39 which talks about the priest garments including the ephod, the breastplate and the robe, and Moses reviewing all the completed parts for the tabernacle. Today I considered that the priest is supposed to serve God but also represent and be responsible for the people. I also considered that like Moses we should review the work done for us before blessing the people.

Priest’s Garments

The priest serving God was required to wear specific clothing and represent the people. The priest wore layers including clothing, ephod, breastplate, etcetera (Exodus 39:1-31). The cloths were blue, purple, and scarlet. The ephod and breastplate were of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet. The robe was blue with a hem of colored pomegranates and gold bells. There were stones and jewels representing the 12 tribes within these garments. Some estimated the garment was 70 pounds or more in weight. Our priests, bishops, and pastors should serve God but they should also stand in the gap for their people.

Tabernacle Finished

Moses reviewed the work before he blessed the people (Exodus 39:32-43). The children of Israel brought all the completed pieces of the tabernacle to Moses. Moses reviewed everything from the tent and pillars to the candlesticks, vessels, altars, and cloths of service. Moses saw the work was according to what God commanded. Then Moses blessed them. We should also remember to review the work of those doing things for us before we bless them with our money.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

When we have work done from house repairs to haircuts, we should look at all parts and angles first before we give the final payment. This way we know the work was completed according to our specifications.

Have you ever not inspected every part of some work and found that they messed up some part to a house repair or haircut/hairstyle or something along those lines?
