Today I read Proverbs 11 which compares the blessings received by the righteous versus the wickedness received by the wicked. Today I considered that we can receive either blessings or wickedness because of our behavior. I also considered that sometimes you have to give a little bit to gain a lot.

The Righteous

The righteous receive blessings because of their behavior (Proverbs 11:1-31). The righteous truly seek God, desire only good, receive direction, show mercy that benefits their soul, and through knowledge are delivered from trouble. They scatter seed and sell items but continue to thrive. Because of the righteous, the city is blessed and can rejoice. God is delighted by them. We should strive to be righteous so God can delight in our behavior.

The Wicked

The wicked receive wickedness because of their behavior (Proverbs 11:1-31). The wicked seek trouble, are prideful, reveal secrets, say things to destroy their neighbors, chase evil to their death, and when they are cruel cause trouble to themselves. They hold onto more than they need, are cursed for not selling items, and become poor. Because of the wicked, the city is brought down. They are servants to the wise. We should avoid wickedness to avoid trouble for ourselves.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

When a farmer plants seeds, it requires the farmer to take some of the seeds they kept and scatter them throughout the farmland. Then the seeds grow and produce more seeds like one growing wheat berry can produce around 110 more. Our lives are like that. Sometimes you have to spend some of your resources to increase your results or harvest like a farmer sows seeds to obtain a harvest..

What have you used your resources to do that resulted in a bigger return or harvest?
