Today I read Proverbs 22, which continues lessons on wisdom including treatment of the poor and choices of friends. Today I considered that God wants us to treat the poor fairly and be careful concerning who we choose to be friends with.
Fairness for the Poor
God wants everyone to take care of and be fair to the poor. God made both the rich and the poor. Those that give to the poor will be blessed. Those that oppress the poor to increase their wealth shall lack. Those that rob the poor, the Lord will plead to ruin their soul. We should do what we can to make sure to give to the poor and ensure they are treated equally in their dealings under the rules of our society.
Choose Friends Wisely
Not everyone should be your friend. Do not become friends with an angry person because you can learn some of their habits. Their habits can lead to hurting your soul. We should try to remember that the friends we make can impact our souls.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
I have looked back over the years to consider some of my friendships. Some either positively impacted life or negatively impacted my life and decisions. Do you have an example of a friendship that caused you more issues and one that resulted in more joy and positivity?
