Today I read Proverbs 25, which has so many different proverbs of Solomon related to people’s actions including timing and visiting people. Today I focused on the timing of the words we say to others and not visiting people for too long.

Timing Matters

Obey God’s timing in the words that you say. If you feel God telling you to wait to tell someone something, wait. “Timely advice is lovely, like golden apples in a silver basket” (Proverbs 25:11 NTL). We have to speak according to God’s timing for the words to be truly effective.

Don’t Overstay Your Welcome

God tells us to be careful about staying at people’s houses too long. “Don’t visit your neighbors too often, or you will wear out your welcome” (Proverbs 25:17 NLT). We should consider that everyone sometimes needs space to themselves.

Questions and Thoughts for Today
