Today I read Hebrews 13, where God warns against some actions but encourages other actions. Today I considered that we can look to the Bible for good actions to take and thoughts to have, not just for restrictions.
Warnings and Actions to Take
God does not want us to do some things but encourages us to do other things. God warns us to not commit sexual sin, don’t covet what others have, and not follow weird practices. God tells us to show brotherly love, remember the Lord is our helper, continuously praise God, obey those responsible for our souls, and pray for people to think and live right.
Questions and Thoughts for Today
Some people consider the Bible all about telling us things not to do, but that is not true. They think God is all about telling us no, which is also not true. The Bible also tells us things we should do. We should care for one another, pray for one another, and worship God. God is about showing fatherly love. A good father will encourage you to do good things but also try to stop you from doing harmful things.
