Today I read Proverbs 27:23-27 and Exodus 23:12, in which we are instructed to care for the animals and give them rest times. Today I considered that with good planning the care of the land and animals could become easier.

Care and Rest for Animals

God expects us to take care of our animals and give them time to rest. God tells us to diligently watch out for our animals making sure they have hay and herbs to eat (Proverbs 27:23-27). Lambs will provide wool for clothing, and goats will help maintain the fields and provide milk. We are to rest at least one day a week so that our animals will also rest (Exodus 23:12).

Questions and Thoughts for Today

When considering purchasing a lot of land one of the things that would stop me was concerns about maintaining the grass and managing the land. Proverbs 27:26 shows that having goats can keep your fields in check. I looked online and there are even organizations that rent out their goats to clear and clean up fields. This gave me the realization that maintaining the land through your animals is possible. The more we know about how the animals interact with the land the better able we can deal with maintaining the land.
