Today I read Luke 12:35-40 and Matthew 24:42-44, which talks about keeping the lamp burning and being prepared when a thief comes. Today I considered that we need to be able to constantly have someone on watch in a disaster so its good to choose ahead of time who you would trust.

Watchful Servant and Thief in the Night

Jesus tells us to always be prepared for when Christ returns because we do not know the time or hour of his return (Luke 12:35-40). Jesus’s example is that servants are to be watchful and always prepared for when their master returns and they will be blessed. Jesus further says that a like a goodman over the house would guard against and prevent theft if they knew when the thief was coming, we have to always be ready.

Questions and Thoughts for Today

When in a crisis or disaster situation you have to constantly be prepared for what is coming. No one person can constantly watch everything because they have to sleep. It is better to have individuals you trust also with you so you can take turns keeping watch.
