Today I read 1 Peter 1:13 and 2 Corinthians 10:5, in which we have to learn to control our minds. Today I considered that one of the most important things in preparedness is focusing your mind.

Sober, Hopeful, Captive Minds

Our minds are to be sober and filled with hope because of the grace given through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:13).  We are to capture our mind and thoughts into obedience with Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Questions and Thoughts for Today

Our minds control how much hope we have, what actions we take, and whether we survive in a crisis or disaster situation. Many people facing a crisis feel overwhelmed and do not know what to do. Sometimes they completely give up. Those that have hope and believe they will make it through the situation, do not give up. They look for solutions and ways to make it through the crisis. Sometimes people having hope actually face a worse crisis that those that have give up. Because of hope and faith they survive when others do not.

What can you do right now to make sure you have hope and faith before you face a crisis or disaster situation?
